1、版面水分大小控制不当。

如果版面水分过大，就是使版面及墨辊带有一层较厚的水膜，进而影响油墨的正常均匀转移和涂布，这样就容易引起掉版现象，而且版面水分过大还会使印刷墨色偏淡，对此如果盲目采取增加输墨量来提高墨色浓度的话，则会因水大墨大造成乳化过度，而且如果版面水分偏小，则无法与油墨抗衡，使版面油墨层铺展，也会引起糊版现象。

2、润版液酸碱度太强。

如果润版液酸性太强的话就会腐蚀画册印刷砂目，破坏印版的亲水层，容易使印刷图文在压印刷过程中被磨掉，因此，润版液的PH值在5左右刚刚好。

胶印过程中如果油墨的粘度过大，除了使油墨转印出现困难以外，还会破坏墨层中间断裂的条件，使版面剩余的墨层不足，其结果就会使印版图文部分裸露磨损，造成掉版。

5、设备老化。

当设备使用老化时，一些关键部件润滑不好造成磨损、松动，如滚筒轴头、轴瓦、齿轮部件、偏心套等。那么，滚筒在合压过程中，便容易产生微量的颤动或滑动现象，从而加剧对印版版面摩擦磨损，致使印迹转移过程中挤压变形间接引起掉版、糊版的现象的产生。

另外，橡皮布不平整也会导致画册印刷出现掉版的现象。当橡皮布的衬垫不平或包勒不紧出现虚松情况时，其表面产生隆起现象，压印时产生不正常的摩擦而破坏印版膜层，从而引起掉版、糊版现象的产生。
